(Deuteronomy 8:18)
It's
time to educate your spiritual self about money and the principles of
prosperity that God desires for His people through the power of unified financial leverage. Prosperity
can be both a blessing and a curse. While it can be a sign of God's
blessing to those who follow Him, it carries with it the potential for
moral and spiritual decline. Prosperous people are tempted to become
self-sufficient and proud and to take God for granted. In our
prosperity, we must not forget that God is the source of our blessings.
You don't give in order to be blessed, you give because you are blessed.
We do not use ministry as a means to make money... we use money as a
means to establish a covenant with God's people. Some would like to call
it a donation, gift or seed, but whatever you call it it should still
have the same purpose.
The Power of Unified Financial Leverage
Some
would claim that the law ended with the Old Testament, but it didn't and that is why the New testament Church supported each other
behold the tithe. If you want to give money, food, clothing or whatever
you have to support the "community of believers" with practical needs, not buildings or ministers, then do so freely and God will honor it. We teach our Cell Church leaders to support their local Cell Churches and community through their tithes/offerings and to give special monthly offerings to support our global evangelism and discipleship efforts efforts.
"Blessed To Be A Blessing"
Too
many
so-called Pastors ministers and church leaders, are simply just motivation speakers with the
designed purpose to fleece the flock by getting people's emotions charged up
simply for filthy lucre or money. You can't serve both God
and mammon(riches), for either you will love the one and hate the other. Please don't
allow money to rule or control your life... use money as a means to
change someone's life. Money is not the answer to all of life's problems.
Life does not consist of the abundance of a man's possessions. God
blesses us to be a blessing to others. "For the love of money is the
root of all evil", but a love of people is the root of all goodness.
Of course we understand the concern
about giving money to churches/ministries these days, because of the
many wolves in sheep's clothing and are a misrepresentation or are telling out right
lies concerning key scriptures just to get money out of your pocket. But, this is also a convenient excuse for those who are
stingy and greedy not to give.
God's Economy
We
want to take this time to help
you understand God's purpose for requiring and our responsibility in giving, so that
you will not be robbed of the blessings that God has promised to those
who walk in obedience to His Word, for we are destined to walk in the peace
and favor of God, with nothing missing and nothing broken as we obey Him. God wants us to trust Him and He wants to
trust us with the responsibility of managing the wealth of this world in
order to bring salvation to the lives of people.
It is interesting to note
that those who say that they don't agree or believe in the principle of
tithing, also do not give anything to support other people at all,
because it's all about them. All true followers of Christ are the total opposite of this line
of thinking and living as the Book of Acts mentions how they went and
sold their possessions and laid them (the proceeds) at the Apostle's
feet for them to distribute according as everyone had a nee, so for
those of us who are spiritually mature and enlightened realize that we are called to
help support one another, not only spiritually, but physically,
socially, emotionally and yes... financially as well. "No one who is an active member of a local church should ever be in lack"
God's Promise
"Bring the whole tithe into the
storehouse, that there may be food in my house. test me in this says
the Lord almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates or windows of
heaven and pour out so much blessing, that you will not have room
enough to receive it." (Malachi 3:10). Why do you think He is going to pour our so much blessing, well the answer is simple... so that you can be a blessing to others.
This was an admonition
to the priest, as well as, the people of God who not unlike the many believers and church leaders today, who had
corrupted themselves by not bringing "all" the tithe into the
storehouse. You see they were stealing from God, this is why you need to
know how your tithes are being used. We would not have our members to be ignorant of this, so please don't
allow the abuse and misuse of this ordinance by men and women
who are simply lovers of money, rob you of your blessings that God has
promised you.
What's A Tithe?
Tithe - is a tenth or 10% of your gross income or increase.
10
cents out of every dollar to support the work of the Kingdom of God in
the earth, so that He can established His covenant with His people.
Old Testament
(Deut 14:22-26, Deut 26:12)
What Was It Used For?
"When
you have finished setting aside the tenth of all your produce in the
third year, the year of the tithe, you shall give it to the (1) Levite, (2) the
alien, stranger or homeless, (3) the fatherless/orphan and (4) the widow, so that they may eat in your
towns and be satisfied" This basically dealt with the provision of food, clothing and shelter.
(Duet 26:12 and Levticus 27:30).
Jesus' Teaching
... Then He said unto them, " Give unto Ceasar what is Ceasar's and give unto God what belongs to Him".
( Matthew 22:21). In this scripture Jesus avoided the trap set by the
Phariseesg, by showing that we have dual citizenship (1 Peter 2:17). we
all understand what belongs to Ceasar and pay our taxes, but what about
that which belongs to God? Our
citizenship in our nation requires that we pay money for the services
and benefits we receive; our citizenship in the Kingdom of Heaven
requires no less.
What About Offerings?
Offerings
are
gifts to support the community of faith, it is the natural results of
being a tither. Once you start tithing, God will put you in a position
to be a giver and lender, instead of being a taker and borrower. The key
is to give willingly, not grudgingly and not out of
necessity for God loves a cheerful giver. You are cheerful because you want to be a giver and realize that it is more blessed to give than to receive.
New Testament Teaching
We see in the New Testament Book of Acts that... "all
the believers were one in heart and mind and that no one claimed that any of
his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. With
great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the
Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them. For from time to time those
who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales
and put it at the apostles feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need."
(Acts 2:32-37)
Take Care of One Another
"If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?"
(1 John 3:17)
How
you give reflects your devotion to Christ and His Body, the Church. For
how can you love God whom you have not seen, and not love your brother
who you see everyday? Let's love people... not money.
Purpose of Giving
The purpose of giving is to support the life of the redeemed community of believers and members of our local community, so that (1) those who have
little will not have too little, (2) that those who have much will not have too
much, (3) so that the love of Christ can be shown to world and (4) so that the gospel of the Kingdom can be preached to all
nations. The purpose is for distribution!
Not to pay a Pastor's salary or to build buildings, but to build people
and help ensure that they have peace and security in life and our members
enjoy several benefits related to their financial security, as you will see later on.
Most of our ministers are bi-vocational and receive their alloted portion of 10% of the tithes. Offerings may be used to otherwise compensate ministers, but money is are not used or given to make our ministers rich or to enjoy a lifestyle above that of the rest of God's people. For the Levites did not own any personal property and were not allowed to possess or have any inheritance in the land. (Deut) 14:27

Blessings Follow Obedience
If
you are not being financially responsible to God, it's no wonder you're
not able to be financially responsible to those around you. Most
people who do not tithe are in debt and have bad credit and don't want
to tithe because they are broke... this is the result of not walking in
obedience. God cannot protect what you have not given Him, so the
devourer is eating up what you try to keep for yourself. Some of you
reading this right now are not tithing into your local church and I
understand why because many have misapplied scripture and are misusing money. But, after reading this, you no longer have that as an
excuse. If you are ready to stop rebelling
against God and walk in
obedience, then come into agreement with God's Word and
start a generational blessing you for and your entire household.
"If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land."
